Hello everybody!
For the last few weeks I've been building an underground maze in halloween town. After putting put a lot of effort into making it as unique and challenging as possible, I am quite satisfied with the outcome. The entance is this building right here: image
To add a bit of excitement to the whole project, I've decided to have an opening event. Here's how it's going to work:
- As of now the Maze is closed to the public. On October 1st I will be opening it, and then it will remain open for anyone who desires to explore it.
- Only for the opening event, I have hidden 470 diamonds worth of loot in the Maze (200d, + 2 sets of god armor and 2 god swords). Once you find loot, you can then deposit it in the ender chests at the center of the Maze or at the end of it. No teleporting out of the Maze.
- Players participating in the opening event can only have and use: an unenchanted iron chestplate, unenchanted iron sword, a torch, and food (no golden apples). This is so that both newer and older players can enjoy the Maze equally.
- First, second and third player to complete the Maze will get special trophies, plus any and all prizes that players are willing to donate. Donations can be deposited in the chest in front of the entrance, and are greatly appreciated.
- Players who die in the Maze will have their equipment replaced free of cost (but not their loot) and can enter it again from the start.
I believe that enabling PVP in the Maze for this opening event will add to the experience, as everybody will have the same equipment, but this is just a proposal and not my choice to make.
As for the Maze itself:
It's undergound, and completely dark. Mob spawns are common and intentional. I recommend using dynamic lighting (hence the torch in the equipment list above). There are no death traps. The walls change, so the usual "stick to the right wall" thing won't work. There are some fancy redstone bits. There's cake at the end.
If you have any suggestions/reccomendations feel free to comment. If you don't, feel free to comment anyways.
