Howdy, it's EnderKitty! After being gone for quite a long time for a couple reasons, I've had time to think about it. I've made up my mind, and have decided to come back for good this time. (In time for the holidays too!)
What really convinced me to stay on the server were the friends I made on the way. The really great people I met, from all over the World. From meeting all of you guys, I learned a lot about character and change. You don't have to be different to try and "fit in" or be "normal" because there is no normal. There's just good friends and good times. No one's different, but no one is the same. They're just themselves. I've been pretty socially anxious and afraid to socialize with anyone, but you all made me comfortable. You expanded my comfort zone to the point where I feel free enough to talk in voice chat to people I've never met. (That's how shy I was.) Mostly everyone has helped me this year, you all made the year more tolerable and enjoyable, especially the very kind staff.
People ask what Simplex is all the time. What it means. I think I have the definition, at least for myself; it's the feeling of hope. The people, the commentary, the gameplay, it all culminates into the very feeling of hope. The detachment from reality to a place where everyone is equal, everyone is free to express themselves however they want within reason. Everyone can be themselves, nothing more and nothing less. That's the reason that keeps me coming back on. The reason I wanted to return, and I suggest that should be your reason too.
This post is a thank you letter. A thank you to all of you who I've met and befriended, and my "soon-to-be" friends. You've all impacted me in certain ways, and I'm grateful for all of you being here and just existing. For being yourselves. This Christmas, I'm thankful for you all. You're all the collective reason why I keep coming back, and why I'm staying. Don't underestimate your impact on people, you just might be what they need to feel better.
Thank you for reading this. Happy Holidays, everyone. Glad to have you here and near this Christmas.
May your days be merry,
-EnderKitty
