I wouldn't mind it but I am no where the builder as most long time users, but It would not push me away from this server at all.
I know what I started at my claim and the other 3 amigos in our area would build back up.
Will support the staff either way it goes.

I'm making this out of curiosity so I can see where the community stands right now in regards to this proposition, as it has been proposed to me a few times in the past 6 months. I just want to say I have no intention on actually doing this so don't panic, this is just a social experiment. EDIT: Your rank will remain the same. I would probably have to delete your claim blocks too so people don't abuse them. YES I WANT THE WORLD TO RESET! |

I can’t tell you guys how upset the idea of resetting the map has made me. I joined Simplex in Jan/Feb of this year after getting lonely in solo play, and since then, I’ve put hundreds if not thousands of hours into my base. I’ve built a ridiculously awesome castle, which is only 90% done. I’m planning to build a community village next to it for new players to join. Also currently in the middle of building a keep with my neighbor. Just the other week I found a Massive unraided abandoned mineshaft. I paused my building and explored every corner of it… took me at least a week to finish. Ken got a glimpse of it in spectator mode… he can vouch for it. I want to build a barn, I have auto-farms I can still build, and when I’m done with everything I want to do on my base… I have a fun idea to build a rail to the shopping district, cuz its only a few K blocks away. After that… I want to go find a cool mountain or jungle biome and build second castle, maybe a second village. The maybe a third. Has anyone seen how many different/cool castle styles there are on youtube? I want to try building a windmill… and a water wheel… and a village of tree houses. Bored?  Come on you guys… if you really can’t think of something cool to build, then go watch some youtube vids for inspiration or find another server. Don’t ruin it for those of us who want to keep what we’ve accomplished and who don’t plan to be finished for a good long while. Poll is closer than last time, but not close enough. Maybe next year? If I do, do it, then maybe i'd make it an every 2 years kind of thing. But i'd like to get the word of more older players that they'd come back. Resetting the world is bound to lose many players so we need older players to fill that gap until things go back to normal. So older players who have already quit are more important than current active players who are fighting to continue? Thanks. And between now and next year I have to worry about losing everything I currently have as well as everything I build between now and then? Great. If abandoned builds are cluttering up the server, save those areas to a downloadable thing and rollback those spots. Ppl who have left the server can download their builds if they want them, and new ppl will have more room. If room is even really an issue. I used the rtp to find other biomes all the time, and have seen plenty of unoccupied space. Now all of that said, IF I can keep my base/castle on a new map, I will be ok with a reset or new server or whatever. But to lose everything I have done just because some people are bored? I don’t care if it can be downloaded to be viewed like a framed picture—I want to use and play with/in my builds on a server with other ppl. It’s why I came here. Did I mention I will be leaving if I can't keep my 8+ months of work? Not sure which thread was the main one... so posted this on both. |
