Minecraft Username: em5454
Punishment and Duration: Not permitted to enter shopping district (forever, unless an appeal is made which causes the duration to change)
Reason: Major Theft
Appeal: (Appeal Below)
This may take a while to explain, which is why I urge you to read the entire appeal. Also, I am big on formalities so sorry if this is a bit extensive.
My name is em5454 and currently I am rank journeyman on Simplex (Only 6 votes away from the next rank!). I have been on this server for a very long time (and if the number of votes I have on my account is misleading, it's because I forget to vote a lot and there were many months during school I didn't come on the server as much,) and have put a ton of work into a small community that consists of me and my real life friends, along with some of their friends that they have added over time. I like to consider myself the leader of the community considering the other person that I started the community with (a user named willowpuff and someone I have personally known for many years) went behind my back and used my account for major theft of a large nether shop.
Around a year ago (this time frame isn't exact but to the best of my knowledge I am certain that it is close to a year) I finally tried to set up a shop in the shopping district, and after a couple weeks I was finally done building it. (It was made of blue, green, and purple stained glass and had a quartz swan in the bottom middle). I have tried to go through my phone to find a picture, as I remember taking one, but I was not able to. (I'll keep looking if you need one.) Only a few minutes after I was done an admin approached me (I wish I could remember which one) asking me why I helped willowpuff and TDP_arctic (another user in the community who is planning to make his own appeal) steal from a shop in the nether. I was shortly banned afterwards.
Outraged I talked to my friends irl and asked them what was going on, and that's when they explained to me that they had logged into my account (willowpuff did know the password as she knows some of my passwords for other accounts not related to minecraft and they happen to be the same thing) and stole nearly everything from a trust based buying system shop in the nether. (This shop was a HUGE shop and I was beyond mad). She told me she did this because she didn't want her account to have as much of a punishment (she was sure of this because she logged into my account while her account was logged in to try and be smart - I know her account did end up being banned but for a much shorter time period than mine,) and thought that with me having a higher rank than her, my account wouldn't be able to get in as much trouble. She was obviously wrong and after I had returned from being banned (I think a month or a few weeks later, I don't remember the exact duration of the ban) I realized I was no longer permitted to enter the shopping district or to create a shop ever again.
Currently, willowpuff and I barely speak irl, she hasn't been on the server in months (at least from what I can tell), we removed her from our community (which I have claims over so I was not griefing), my minecraft account password has been changed, and today actually I noticed that while trying to sign in to my close friends account (who I share basically all of my stuff with and vice versa, he can attest to that if you need him to) to grab some tools back that I lent him (with his permission of course, and if you need screenshots of him giving me permission I can do that too, though it was on snapchat because they are at school today - I am home sick) I saw that minecraft now does not allow people to log in to an account on a computer where the installed version was bought by a different account. (I could only play the demo version on his account and so we changed plans for him to give me the tools tonight.) (Also if this is an old thing that minecraft does, I only noticed it today, and I know that only a few months ago I was able to sign into their account (with their permission again) without this problem.)
I do realize the severity of the theft that was committed and how whether or not it was me behind the computer, it was my account that was the perpetrator. I understand if my request to be able to re-enter the shopping district is denied. Though I do just want to say that I love this server, and plan to spend a lot of time upgrading my community this summer. As to why I didn't appeal sooner, there was a suggested 6 months before I should make an appeal to be allowed to return to the shopping district. Once that 6 months was up I felt that with my inactivity on the server due to school, and the fact that I felt very much guilty for allowing someone else to have my password, I felt appealing would not get me anywhere. I appeal now, only because of the update on minecraft that I noticed this morning that I talked about in the last paragraph because now I am very sure that this will NEVER happen again. (Currently nobody in the community is aware of my password.)
Thank you for reading this whole thing (sorry it was so long),
I do understand that the decision you make is based off of what you feel is best for the security of your server and I respect that,
All the best,
