As players reach more and more end game, Diamonds become less, and less valuable and some other resources become more valuable.
So I would like to propose an idea: We can use paper money instead of diamonds.
1. There could be a "central bank" where you can exchange diamonds for paper money or the opposite. (The diamonds would be strictly be kept in the bank with no player interaction, the only interaction the bank would have with a player is the originally placed paper money)
2. The bank could have a "trade up" system where you can exchange 4 notes of 16 value to a 64 one.
3. The "paper money" could be Signed Books: 2a. The Signed Books will be copied from an original book by only ONE player, the "Money Printer" player. 2b. If the Signed Books you receive is not signed by the player that made all the currency notes and it's not a copy of an original then it's counterfeit.
4. This means the original "Money Printer" player mustn't abuse his/her power over the system or the system will collapse.
5. The supply of Paper Money would be limited, let's say 10 000

This makes stuff even more complicated then things need to be. Keeping up with the shopping district is sometimes allready a pain. Fun idea but this will never work because of its complexity.

This idea could help with cheaper items, let's say you want to buy 1 stack of stone for 1^ (let's symbol them like this) and 16^ is a diamond, that would make the purchase much more easier. The same goes with big purchases, for example an elytra for a 64^ x 10 (which is 640^, which in turn is 40 diamonds)

Players like to hoard valuable things. Creating a limited item with the purpose of having it accessible to all will result in something similar to the elytra situations a few months back where a few players had all the elytras (In in case they would have this currency) and would not let any of them go back into circulation. You would have to get all the shop owners and the Shopping district itself and like all 250+ players that play on simplex every week to agree to this.
Diamonds are just an easy to get currency that everyone can easily participate in. Takes not more than 30 mins to get diamonds. With this currency you propose how would people get it? Shurly the "Money Printer" can't be online all the time and having a spot where you have to go to trade in diamonds for this Currency will only drag this currency down by the factor of laziness that everyone has. Why would I go someplace to trade my diamonds (an item that I can use to craft n stuff with) for some new currency that can only be used at certain shops?
A different type of currency is interesting, however, it is just not very worth doing on simplex due to the semi-vanilla way the server is. There is an infinite amount of diamonds on simplex, an infinite amount of participation.
Also if ya need stone just hit me up in-game I (along with lots of other players) have free stone if ya just ask politely.

For the Infinite Diamonds: There isn't an infinite amount of diamonds, it's a limited supply, just not a realistic scenario were we can end their supply 3. Right now diamonds are de-valued a lot because rich players that have been playing for over a year and/or own a decent shop have them in the thousands. That's why I propose this idea which is interesting. This idea would make the community come closer together.

3. Right now diamonds are de-valued a lot because rich players that have been playing for over a year and/or own a decent shop have them in the thousands. Worth noting that rich players earned their diamonds. Sure they may have been playing for years, but that comes with years of hard work. Don't pretend that rich players are devaluing diamonds. The value of diamonds mostly comes from the work that players put in to get them. Rich players have put in a lot of work, and so they have a lot of diamonds. And in putting in all that work, they've added to the value, rather than taken away. A paper currency would be a pain in the ass to make, maintain, and sell everyone on. If you think you're up for the challenge, there's nothing stopping you from pursing it. But don't just pitch your idea and expect someone else to do the heavy-lifting for you. At the end of the day, the only currency worth anything ingame or in the real world is time. So if you wanna put in the time and work to make it happen, go ahead. But if you don't want to, then don't expect someone else to do it for you. And don't expect worthless paper to magically get value without hard work.
