Minecraft Username: TheRealEpicFlame Punishment and Duration: jail 3 days. Reason: Underpaid/(Not on purpose) Appeal: I bought a trident from Aqua's shop, realised it had the wrong enchantments, and swapped it out for the right one. No stealing or bad intentions involved. Thank you. Edit: thanks to bounce I found out I underpaid. I see the problem now.

Hello TheRealEpicFlame, I am quite surprised to find out that you don't know the reason you were jailed. Phleanix and I explained it to you clearly in main chat, but I will repeat it again for you. You were jailed for 3 days for: (1) Taking a trident at my nether shop and returning it with lower durability (2) Underpaying for a trident by 35 diamondsI attached logblock and picture evidence to this forum post. The price of god tridents in my nether shop is 45 diamonds each. You paid only 10 diamonds for it. Prices are clearly listed in 3 different locations in my shop to prevent underpayment: (1) on the item frame, (2) on the blue sign on the shulker, and (3) in the shulker itself. I'm not sure how you even came to the price of 10 diamonds. Please note that underpayment is still theft; in this case, you took the trident while paying only roughly 22% of its price. While you can claim it was an accident, you still failed ignore very clearly stated signs and acted in a careless manner. In terms of the trident you returned, that is called reverse shopping. I'll give you an analogy: Imagine you go to a grocery store and buy a chocolate bar. You leave the store, and then you change your mind - you want a bag of chips instead. So you return to the store and replace the chocolate bar you took a bite out of and take a bag of chips instead without asking for permission. The line of logic is similar to this case. You took one type of trident at my shop, left the store, and 30 minutes later you replaced the trident ( which was used and had lower durability) and took another type of trident. You should have asked me via /mail if you were allowed to do so. On top of that, you should have mended the trident. Even if there's a 5 minute difference between the time you bought an item from a shop and the time you want to return the item or take another version of it, you ALWAYS have to contact the shop-owner to get their permission. Keeping in mind that mistakes can happen, but also keeping in mind the large amount of underpayment and the reverse shopping, I will reduce your jail sentence from 3 days to 1 day. In the future, please be more cautious in taking the time to read signs and paying the correct price for the items you take. Think of it this way: if shop-owners are kind enough to take the time out of their day to gather and sell items that players need, then players should have the courtesy of ensuring that they pay the correct amount. Cheers, AquariusBlueAttachments:

I agree, I didn't think about the durability but your analogy about reverse shopping is a little disagreeable as you are comparing it to Minecraft,I can assure you I did mistake the price of the trident and I apologise for underpaying. I did not notice the durability of the trident and I definitely agree I should have repaired it. I am new to the server and learning as I go, I will definitely be more cautious in the future, although I think the reverse shopping rules should be reworked a little as this is minecraft and the same consequences that come with reverse shopping in real life are quite different to Minecraft. Thanks a lot Aqua.

You are welcome to make a post about this in the Suggestions section of the forum, however, the Shopping District rules have gone through several iterations and one thing has always been consistent. Once you've left the shop, you can't return the item. And you certainly can't return a item with used durability!!
If you're in the chest and you pick up the wrong thing, by all means put it back and get the right thing! But if you've left the store and USE the item: NO WAY can you just swap it out. That's madness.
In Minecraft, or in real life, leaning over the checkout and helping yourself to the cash/diamonds in the register is simply not allowed.
At /spawn and at each of the /warps on this server, you are almost always dropped in front of the rules on signs or in a book. I'd suggest, as part of your "learning as you go", you stop to read these rules in each area in future. Assuming you know how things work will get you more jailtime and/or ban-time.
Kind Regards, Phleanix
