So we all know that 1.11 is coming soon. Shulker boxes are being added, created by killing shulkers in the end. Right now, the end hasn't been reset in a while. 1.11 would be a perfect time for that. New update, new end. And it will be easier/harder, to get shulker boxes, with the end now being riddled with pathways and cities that have been destroyed. Now, if we reset the end, there would be even more motivation to venture out in the black abyss. People will want to find elytras, end city loot, and now shulkers. It will be amazing. I had a short chat with meehan about exactly this a few days ago, he said he might reset it for 1.11 during that. So yeah, I support this suggestion.

We'll probably do this. The only concern I have is with the enderman farms which some people have made. Those will be gone.

No. The end dimension can(/should) be reset/deleted separately. There's no need for a full reset on all dimensions. As far as I'm aware all ender farms in the end are endermite based though, which are pretty resource friendly to build. If anything I guess people can take away any valuables from their farms before the dimension gets reset?

If there is no 1.11 reset, then people will get bored of the server, and eventually the server will die off because everyone had accomplished their goals. I've seen this happen to many servers and it is a big mistake to not reset. We might survive another update without people becoming inactive and bored, but after that? Resets are always needed.

It's only been running for 6 months, and there's been no terrain generation changes. I'm of the opinion that resets are pretty useless as long as the map isn't overcrowded. If people get bored after having accomplished their goals they can always start anew leaving their old stuff behind. I don't see a full reset being of any value since you can just do that.
Edit: FYI, I'm not quoting because quotes suck on the boards.net by default. lol

Yeah I don't see the point of reseting the other worlds. Most of our players would just leave because all of their hard work would have gone to waste.

I thought perhaps it'd create to boredom and leading to players leaving, but this is a potential risk as well. I am alright with this, I suppose, but what about the Woodland Mansions?

The problem is I have seen servers go in ruin because they reset all the world's. The only way to keep people happy is to move builds into a new world. Personally I'm glad with keeping everything the way it is.

The enderman farms popped up within two weeks of the last reset, and the builders were definitely aware that the end had just been reset and would likely be again. Also, the whole idea that space isn't claimable in the end goes a long way towards reducing the permanency of those builds in the first place. Not to mention that two of the farms are build by users who are no longer playing much if at all.

The one most used (down the obby path) was first made by me and sup3r. when 1.11 release date comes up i'll go and dismantle most of the items there (hoppers, chests of end pearls, and other stuff) and will rebuild it once the end is reset. will take any help to make it better, since some of you think it sucks.

what about the Woodland Mansions? They can still generate in chunks that have been populated for less than (I think it's) 6 minutes (as well as chunks that have never been loaded before of course). They should still be out there, albeit quite limited. Totems of undying will dissapear from the server sooner or later regardless, given the world border.
