Summer is fast approaching meaning it is time once again for a Map Art Competition!
This year I had a pretty good Picture of what the theme is going to be so we are going to start early! I can't wait to see all your submissions so I can Frame them up on my wall!
Theme: Framed Pictures, Paintings, and Art! You can make any sort of Map Art you want as long as it has a frame! My idea is to create more painting like map arts that players can use instead of the standard mc paintings. If you do not know what a frame is, it is like a border on a piece of art to make it look more fancy. Look at any Minecraft painting, they hall have frames.
Frames must be made of at least 3 unique map art colors and the image inside the frame can't be "bad" "modern art".
Size: No limit on how big it can be. You won't get any extra points if you make it super big.
Timeline:
-You have from RIGHT NOW until July 21st to submit any number of entry that fits the theme.
-Starting on June 21st an area at Summer Events will be open where submissions will be displayed, you can sell your map art here also if you are wanting.
-From July 24th - July 30th voting polls will open on this forum post. The results will not be shown until the Sunset Festival starts on the 30th (More info coming soon).
-July 30th the Prizes will be given out.
Prizes:
Each player can only place once:
-1st Place: 128 Diamond Blocks
-2nd and 3rd Place: 16 Diamond Blocks each.
Everyone (Including if you place) will get 32 Diamonds for each entry they submit. So say if you submit a total of 4 entries, then you will get 128 Diamonds even if you don't get in the top 3!
Other info:
-YOUR MAP ART MUST BE NEW! No submitting a map art that has already been made!
-You can submit an INFINITE number of entries. However only one of your entries will be allowed to win!
-I am not providing any materials or places to build your art. You must figure that part out yourselves!
-After you make your art you can sell it! Submitting your art into this competition will not revoke your right to sell your art! I am even offering you a place at the Event area where you can sell your map art for the Duration of Summer Events.
-You can work together with other people, however the 32 Diamond Prize will be split among the players who made it.
How to Submit your entries(s): If you are submitting multiple entries, please repeat this process for each entry. Do not combine your entries into one post.
Step 1: Respond to this forum post with a screenshot of your mapart in an item frame(s). When you post, be sure to include:
- Your in-game username
- The name you have given your mapart (Can be the name of the character, scene, etc.)
- What the mapart is of.
Step 2: Drop a copy of all parts of the mapart into the Events Hopper at spawn.
Step 3: If you wish to sell your Map Art at the Event site (available AFTER June 20th) mail me (Choo_Imperium) in-game and I can set you up.
