a couple ideas with the vote sites

i've been thinking of ideas to get more people on as there's been so little people on since summer ended and i believe the biggest reason why is due to new people rarely joining and changing some stuff with the vote sites could help get more people wanting to join.

more vote sites - i haven't seen it discussed before but two sites isn't many and adding more would have more places for people to find simplex. i know there were more a long time ago and the voting system could be like however it was then or vote milestones could be adjusted with more sites added (one more site added = votes needed x 1.5, two added and votes needed are doubled so it would take the same amount of time to get each milestone)

changing descriptions on vote sites - right now the server descriptions aren't bad but they don't tell people what simplex has that makes it worth joining or different from the hundreds of servers they scrolled past before finding simplex. it mentions how there are no modifications that make gameplay less vanilla and how ranks are based only on voting when it could also include how there are frequent events like weekly spleef, monthly arena matches, build comps, and events with free items (egg hunts, trick or treating, santa kitty wishlists, summer events, simplex quests). a new description could also mention the public /warp farm, the shopping district ran by player-owned shops (and not a shop plugin), player built and open to the public xp farms and villager halls, or mentioning how there are many public and player-made services in general.

replacing topg - i searched "minecraft servers" on a couple different browsers and topg was the sixth website result on google and was buried in pages of other results on the other browsers i used. i don't know if not many people use topg but it appears that there are at least other websites that are more used. replacing topg with another site (maybe best-minecraft-servers.co, minecraft-server-list.com) could help get more people to see simplex on vote sites without adding more sites.

i hope something is done to bring the amount of people playing up again, the last months on the server have been lonely and with how long there have been less people playing this isn't a slump that can eventually improve without things done to help it. also since i've seen staff say promoting the server is allowed before i'm going to look for places to promote it, hopefully i can get some more players.
