Hey guys, I thought of an idea that could potentially cut back on stealing and make it easier to trade. My suggestion is a similar command to the ./give command in creative, but optimized for survival use. This command wouldn't spawn in items, but it would transfer an item from a players' inventory to another player. An example usage would be: /give <player> <amount> Which would give the target player x amount of the item in your hand Pros of the command:- Ability to log "transactions" making it easier for mods to detect scamming and steal-and-pass theft.
- Peer-to-peer trading could prevent a third party from picking up items.
- Trading could be done while players are busy
Cons of the command:
- Tabbing may lead to giving an item to the wrong player.
- It would encourage people to be hermits.
Possible Balancing:
- If the command is seen as too good or overpowered, it could be limited to certain ranks/donation packages only.
If you have any feedback on the command, or any pros/cons to add to the list, feel free to comment your thoughts down below!

I have a question though. How prevalent is scamming on the server?

I have a question though. How prevalent is scamming on the server? I mean, it doesn't seem to occur too often. When I discussed it in chat before posting, the topic of scamming was brought up so I thought I'd briefly cover it in the post.

Meh. The only benefit I see to this is that transactions are logged, and I can't say I've ever been scammed trading with someone (and I've done a lot of trading). I'm not against it, but the effort required to implement something like this doesn't seem worth the benefit.

I agree with Veil. I don't currently get scammed nor could I see myself getting scammed by the current group of players, but this may become a problem in the future as the server continues to grow. There isn't a place for it right now in my opinion, but I definitely think we should develop this command for future use.

There are a few plugins that makes trading convenient and safe. No need to tpa anywhere. It's seems like changing the code behind /give to accommodate your idea would be a pain.
That being said, I am in favor of having an easier way to trade.

What I see happening is trollers joining, collecting loads of materials, and spamming them all into players or mods inventories. I think it would need to be similar to the /tpa command. I had two ideas that could work. The first one comes from a Skyblock server wrightkid and i used to play on. If you did /trade wrightkid and he did /trade accept, it would open an inventory area where you both place the items you want to trade into slots, click a confirm button, and you both get the items. Another idea is the one like /tpa. You could do /trade wrightkid, with two diamonds in your hand, and on his screen, it would say:
<Adept | Acacia> would like to trade 2x DIAMOND with you. /trade accept to accept the item(s). /trade deny to deny the item(s). /trade switch to give them the item(s) in your hand in exchange for the item(s) in their hand.
