Greetings higher ups
I'd just like to bring up that there is no basic definitions or detailed explanations of your rules. I understand that you can't cover a rule for everything and so you have a "rule zero" which is: "...Staff has the right to make judgement calls on rules not explicitly covered..." which is nice.
There is also a few inconsistencies that need cleaned up between rules found in the "Getting Started" book, the spawn and the rules listed with /rules Because of this I need a few rulings because there is not any detailed version of the rules.
Rule #1 at spawn: I have a basic idea of what grief is - its one of those don't be an asshole and destroy peoples stuff rule. I know its a very well established word in the minecraft community but what does this server define as grief? Also, What about a creation? Is everything player made protected under the no grief rule? Does this include pillars of dirt/cobble (in the middle of nowhere) , half cut trees (in the middle of nowhere), and or randomly placed torches?
Rule #2 at spawn: Whats raiding? Is it like MMORPG raiding where you take a party through an instance and defeat a dungeon? There is no set definition for this and if there is I'm sure all servers will have their own definition of what "raiding" is.
Rule #2 in the book. I understand no advertising other servers but is there anything else that I cannot advertise? What about a youtube channel? a mini-game I made in minecraft?
Rule #7 in book. As it is now I cannot make a PvP arena of my own and fight in it. The only place to go for everyone for PvP is at the spawn arena; I can't even duel someone wherever I want. Could we atleast be able to make our own PvP Arenas and make them "official" after putting in an application?
Rule #9 in /rules. I do this already cause I hate having potholes everywhere caused by creepers. But do I seriously have to fill in every single hole caused by a creeper? How do higher ups enforce this?
Other than rules the community farm requires 6 votes to warp to. I worked around this by going to the oldspawn and using the warp there, please patch this up. If you do decide to have a "detailed" version on the rules keep a simple and to the point version at spawn so new players coming into the server don't feel overwhelmed. Just have it somewhere public but accessible so people like me can refer to it. One last thing there, is no gap between global and private chat, may we have a local chat? Everyone with a certain block radius of the player chatting will receive the message.

Detailed rules would be nice. But at the same time, there's a thin line or gray area where it is the mods' call. Setting detailed rules would likely lead to people being smart asses and pushing it as far as they can without technically breaking the rules. For say, if it was illegal to build within 50 blocks of another player, someone may decide to build something 51 blocks away just to be smart. If the mods decided to clarify raiding as stealing something of value from another player, someone would likely steal "non valuables". Yano? The mods are pretty understanding and can differentiate between good intent and bad intent. I feel like the majority of the rules are common sense anyways.

No, because you could trick newbies into TPAing into your arena where you could kill them and take their stuff, and them claim they agreed to the PvP.

Then the player who did the Luring would get punished and the rookie would get his/her stuff back worst case would be the griefer gets the noobs stuff and the new guy leaves. Couldn't you do this trick with current PvP arena? Of course its punishable but I'm asking if its possible. Player TP's to you while you are in the arena > You kill them > there stuff lays on the floor and you grab it OH WAIT, you can't pick up other peoples stuff in the PvP arena, then again, anyone who gets killed while at another players couldn't TP back to the player (cause he just wanted to grief him/her) This can be solved by having a Warp to PvP arenas then...

The pvp rule is there for traps players may make to "protect" their base. As for in depth rules, they're fairly blunt. Everything is absolute when it comes to greif, so no greif at all covers stealing. #2 is again, in general. If you made something on the server, come here to advertise and put it in the builds section. No raiding is basically no stealing from anything. As for the creeper one, no one enforces it and very few follow it... Hate to say "just dont follow it" but it's your choice. If it blows up an unclaimed structure it would be helpful if you fixed it.

This has happened before, a player named Aegeus (I think that's how you spell it) was selling some wool to Diamond_Jacob365 (a.k.a. MendingCookie) and Jacob sent a tpa request. He spawned in the pvp arena and was caught off guard and killed by Aegeus. Everytime he grabbed his stuff, he was spawn-killed by Aegeus until his stuff despawned. After this and a few other things, Aegeus was perm-banned.

The rule about creeper holes, yes please try to fill in any creeper holes made. We cant really enforce it, but if you dont just know we think you to be an ass hat for not doing it. Filling in creeper holes keeps the server from looking like crap. Think everyone covered all the others. If you ever have questions about a rule either staff or seasoned players will be able to help you with the definition of them. Never be afraid to ask.

All my questions are listed in my OP (as of now). I'd like the Admins to answer my questions simply because they are the ones that made the rules, at least I think. What there interpretation of the rules are (and the answers to my questions) is going to be above anyone elses, so its best to ask them am I wrong?

If you want a really good layout of the rules the one to ask is Meehan_miner. He's the owner of the server and creater of the rules. Or if not available, Dysue can, as the only active admin rn. Though the mods and helpers are also versed well in the rules and what they mean. You can find a list of staff at spawn or just look for the [M] or [H] after the name. If the mods or helpers dont know a specific question of the rules we have contact with the owner and admin. Though the answer might be late, as Meehan and Dysue both live in Australia and most of the rest of staff are in america. If you ever feel a call made by the staff is wrong you can always post it here on the forums.

Okay. Rule 1: Dirt pillars and random torches or anything like that I wouldn't classify as creations, so don't worry about those. Rule 2: By raiding I just mean stealing. Stealing from other people is against the rules. Rule 7: I've let other people make their own PvP arenas. But the rule is to stop people from making traps to kill people or lava them. Rule 9: Rarely will we enforce this. It's more of an effort by me to keep the server looking clean. If you happen to see any creeper holes around public places (particularly), it'd be a nice thing for people to fill them up. Try make an effort to keep our server looking clean I've patched up the old spawn warps. Thanks for telling me that. Also, the chat thing could be good but I can see there being a few issues, for example if helpers or mods needed to talk to someone.
