I just got the sad news from Christa. Bill is no more. He will be missed.

I would think that the griefer causing enormous mayhem in Kitty's town did it. I noticed that Bill was dead when we arrived at the town to clean up all the Dark Oak trees that were planted.
Do you want me to help you gain a new wither? I'm going to farm skulls anyways as my wither, Wyfern, was slaughtered too.

I'd assume no one given that it was inside a box that you had claimed. I don't see any way to kill it, unless splash potions of harming can be used by other players inside the claim perhaps, but I highly doubt it.

As the cage was made out of glass panes, you can shot the left / right head with a bow. The arrow 'goes through' the cage as the hitbox is pretty big. |

As the cage was made out of glass panes, you can shot the left / right head with a bow. The arrow 'goes through' the cage as the hitbox is pretty big. No... The wither's hitbox is only the main body, and mob hitboxes NEVER go through blocks (including glass panes). Edited my post. I guess the arrow hitbox is big enough to collide with the mob's hitbox when using panes, which is how it's able to hit it. Edit: Yep. Edit #3: I think the top of the cage was glass panes too, so to kill it you would have to fly up using an elytra and fireworks, drop down into the wither cage, and then kill it with your sword, I guess? |

My current theory, is that the cage is entirely made out of glass panes. This means that the top is made out of glass panes too. And when you place them aside, they won't form a solid ground, but there would be holes in between the panes. This hole is big enough for the player to encounter the wither with a sword. The thing that's bugging me with this 'theory', is that I wonder how the person got on top of the box. Enderpearls are not allowed to be used in someone's claim except for if the person is trusted. Also, I think the wither can shoot trough the glass on the top (if there's actually holes in them). This makes it so that any new player has a hard time killing him, ending up dying themselves. So I ASSUME that the player who killed Bill had strong gear. |

This is exciting. We got a murder mystery going on the server. Detective Sam and Doctor Veil are on the case. I will plan a Memorial Service for Sam Bill this weekend.
