Got a friendly introduction the day I joined and the players were quick to help out after I was away from MC for 2 years. It has active regular players that you can get to know and the staff do their jobs well. All around a friendly environment for a server, and the plugins are not at all intrusive to the gameplay.

I like puppies and dinosaurs.

I like the community, everyone in the Simplex community have got eachothers backs. I remember back when I first started on the server, the players and server staff were so welcoming and were really cool to talk to from the start. I just knew I would have a nice time on the server. ^ u ^

There's enough plugins to let you get on with playing survival multiplayer Minecraft, without worrying too much about griefers.
It's public and seems to get a good amount of new players coming on and either being "unintentionally entertaining" or being awesome and joining in with the community.
The community: Meehan, the staff, and all the regular players!
Good number of players on at any time.
Updated pretty quickly with latest version of Minecraft.
