Hello people of Simplex I just wonder if anyone know what the limit of minecarts pr. chunk is. Someone said it might be 8, or maybe 10. And even Meehan joined the other day and said maybe 7, but was not quite sure I think. I really want to know exactly, cos I'm building a farming tower, and I'm using hopper minecarts for collecting stuff. I know the cap is there to prevent lag, and I'm not after pushing the limit to max here. I just don't want to loose minecarts, as they are kind of unreachable without breaking half the farms. Thank you all -SnuRRe

It''s 18 for normal minecarts. I happened to test this the other day for villager storage and transportation purposes. Might be different for other types of minecarts, not sure.

Well I did too, kind of. I know I got fewer that 18 in a chunk, but they kept disappearing. Had to run all around my base for the villagers, as the carts disappeared. For me, it was way less than 18..

Hmm. Not sure if ncp treats it differently if an entity is riding it then. I tested this using empty minecarts.

Oh well, I'll just test it out if I need. I have 5 minecarts in my tower, so I'm fine for now. Maybe just build another tower if I wanna expand later.
Btw, I tried pushing a dirt block into a hopper minecart(with a piston) to use in some of the farms. But the cart will pop out and up of the dirt block after a random numbers of seconds or minutes. I guess some plugins or maybe spiggot itself is doing something that messes with(or prevents) that.
