The X-Ray prevention plugin on the server gets fairly annoying sometimes. A lot of the time when I play minecraft I like to mine, as I'm not very good at building and the plugin seems to enjoy preventing me from mining stuff like diamonds a lot of the time if I've found a lot. Staff can even look at my mineshaft, it's a 1x2 mine going straight, forever.
Today I was mining and wasn't having much luck finding any diamonds, but I was finding some emeralds, as I was in an extreme hills biome. Once I finally found some diamonds, it wouldn't let me mine the whole vein and started giving me the warning about X-Ray prevention.
I just think there could be a better plugin being used. I used to admin a minecraft server before it closed down, I don't remember the name of the plugin, but pretty much it would say in a chat only to staff memeber something like "[username] just found [ore(usually diamonds or emeralds)]" and if we would notice the same player finding a lot of diamonds in a very short time span, we would go invisible, and tp to them and watch them mine.
I understand this server is meant to be vanilla, but sometimes, some stuff is better than others. I also understand if its too hard/not possible currently to change the plugin, but it's just a suggestion.

Just to throw my 2 cents in here... This has been brought up numerous times and as a player (albeit one that never goes mining diamonds anymore) I do agree that the current anti-x-ray plugin is quite annoying as you can quite easily reach the mining limit by simply stripmining a bit, and the fact that simply standing still doesn't make your mining points go up doesn't help either, as you initially assume you simply have to wait x amount of minutes before you can mine diamond ore again.
I don't believe Meehan (the owner) intends to change it though, so it's kinda something we have to live with. With that said though, if you see staff online when you reach the limit feel free to ask if you can get your mining limit reset. No guarantees that it'll happen, but I've had mine reset (long before I became a helper) before after asking.

Just my opinion, we have 20+ players on at most times. If that plugin had every ore, staff would be totally spammed and be unable to read chat before it's wiped away by ore messages at some times. Also if the public knew about this plugin, they could just do when no staff are on.

The system we have in place now works. Why jinx it? Yes, it's annoying that you can't mine indefinitely. But, this is a compromise between normal players and cheaters. If there weren't any limits, cheaters would get away with cheating and completely devalue the diamonds' worth. If hyper inflation occurred then you'd be mining for worthless ores. In the end, if you are in the clear for mining, like VeilStar had mentioned, it's probably just best to ask a mod or a helper+ to come inspect your tunnels and they can reset your time for you.

What most don't know, helper+'s, mods and admin have a lot going on in their chat then just normal chat. Its sometimes hard enough to keep up with chat on a busy day. There is no limit that I am aware of for emeralds. The anti xray mod works like this: you gain points when playing, up to 2800. Every diamond you mine is 100 points. Fortune doesn't effect the points, its the ore itself thats counted, not how many you get out of it. When you hit the limit it will tell a staff member (H+ and up) if we are online. If I'm on I'm usually there next to you in a matter of seconds as I'm trained well in seeing the message even if I'm not paying close attention to chat. Asking us for reset is fine (even though we're already stalking you) and if you're tunnels dont look horrible, its no trouble to reset your points to 2800. If bored and hit the limit already, not really wanting to build, you could always go gathering supplies. The rtp warp pad is useful to go find things. If you dont use stuff for building you could always gather stuff and sell it for some already mined diamonds  |

Because last night I wasn't hardly finding diamonds, but I found a ton of emeralds and once I did find some diamonds it warned me about xraying, but I'll remember for next time about asking for it to be reset I didn't know it could be reset, thanks for the helpful information |

I agree with cptchlorix. If we remove this plugin I worry that cheaters could cause a devaluation of the diamond.

I just kinda think there could be a better one being used on the server that doesn't stop people from mining who dont cheat like me. Like I said, most of the time when I play minecraft I spend that time mining as it's what I like to do and I'm not really good at building |
