(If you already have this somewhere and I missed it I apologize)
Could we put some chests near the spawn somewhere that maybe could be used as community donation chests? For example, if I have things I'd like to give away, I could put them in the chests for people to look through. It'd be first come first serve and it would be a nice way to give away things without having to advertise in chat, find someone, go to their location, and give it to them. I know it could potentially be abused by people just putting in like one stick in every slot in the chests or whatnot, if there's a way to limit people to maybe putting in/taking out five things or something per day, that could help. Just a thought! I just know sometimes I have an excess of wood, iron, food, etc and it'd be great if I had somewhere to put it for others instead of adding to my own stockpiles.

I like this suggestion because the intention is good, and I'm open to the idea, but I do have some concerns with it. I once tried putting up a suggestion box at spawn where I had a chest of book and quills. Unfortunately, one player kept going back to the chest and taking all the book and quills out of the chest so nobody else could write their suggestions. Because of this I had to remove the chest because of this one player. So what I'm worried about is the same thing will happen. Not always does your intended gift to newer players end up getting to them. And sometimes it's a selfish player who takes everything out of the chest for themselves.

I agree, while the community as a whole is great, there are still people who would ruin it. probably better to hold on to it, and if you're feeling generous, give it away to people who ask.

It is a great idea. But yeah some people can ruin all the good ideas. Ex. Community farm.that sometimes isn't replanted.

It's a nice idea, but it goes against the basic premise of survival.
And, I agree. There will be people who will clear out a community chest, just because they can, regardless of actual need.
If someone needs something, the can ask other players for it. And they will either get what they need, or they won't. (and judging from my time here, I would say, people are willing to help out more often than not)

Since you've added logblock onto the server, I think you should revisit this idea. Therefore when someone just completely clears the chest you could see who did it.
