So I noticed there's rules against building a claim near someone elses. We have a largeish fort out in the middle of nowhere, and today someone showed up in our base and they'd claimed the land near-ish. It's at least a couple hundred blocks away, but it IS in the direction we were planning on expanding to. I'm curious what the rules are serverwise for how close a claim needs to be to your own before it's something you can bring to an admins attention. Obviously we can just expand in a different direction but I wanted to check first. Edit: Well, I may have spoken too soon, he showed up in the base and said we were neighbors and we saw a lit up area nearby but there doesn't seem to be anything there. We now don't seem to know where he is, but I'm leaving this up because I'd love to hear thoughts on this and know what people consider to be too close.

Its a tricky subject. Its hard to day hey your too close seeing as there really is not anything defining it. I would say 200-300 blocks would be suitable but if you have an issue with something like that just talk to the person. I have had a couple people ask if they can build near me and I basically said yeah just walk about 500 blocks so you and I can have some space. That's my opinion.

I think this rule means that You cant claim land directly next to someone else's to sabotage their builds. Like for example building walls around someones home so they cant get inside. I would say that building 30 or so blocks near someones claim is ok as long as you arent doing it to intentionally harm their build. I don't think its right to call dibs on 100+ blocks near a claim, without the resources to claim the area.

200-300 blocks is a sufficient distance.

CDIZ, you're all good. We honestly just didn't know where you were, that's it. We've had bad experiences with people building right up against our claims on other servers. If you need anything, please let us know, we're right around the corner.
