See that's why I'm on the fence with the new, well everything lol, it's only because of the builds. I'd be sad to see my blue rose map art leave since that took me a year to make lol. Also all them skulls in the skull case o.O. And my current build is this huge qurtz castle that's over a dug out stronghold. Which I didn't finish the castle yet cuz if we do start it all over what's the point in wasting more time if it's just going away ya know. Is there a way to make another server for the new and have this one up as well? I know it costs money to maintain a server yes but if we had a way to keep one for the builds so they won't have to lose there hard work. See I don't even know what the fiddle sticks I'm saying anymore... I only have 3 things I'd hate to see go away, my stronghold qurtz castle, my woodland mansion man-made and still never finished that has my skulls and banner collection and my awesome blue rose map lol, to be honest I forgot everything eles that I have but those lmao. I'm not much help I'm sorry. Just. I played this Pixelmon server that has 3 servers, one for play, one for servival play, and one to help the one other server out. That's why I thought the other server thing could be an idea...I'll shut up now I'm sorry.

FWIW, I don't mind starting from scratch — builds, inventory, and everything. However, if staff wanted to move something of mine over, I'd be more than happy for that to happen. I would need to find a suitable place for relocation, though.

I think if there were a reset too that only lucid can build within a 500 block radius of spawn

I could not agree more with Veil, as his position mirrors my own thoughts on the current status of the game/server.
With a full reset, I'd lose some incredible amount of diamonds, resources and buildings, and more importantly, I would lose my beloved villagers, whom I worked very long, very hard to come by.
But I would also gain a new reason to play in the server, a fresh start, full of possibilities.
So, for all these reasons, I think a world reset to 1.13 is the way to go.
Let's embrace the challenge, infinity mending bows be damned.
Guess I might as well post my thoughts/opinions as a player. Do I want a reset? Yes. Absolutely. I don't play anymore because there is nothing for me to do anymore. Having played for over 4000 hours I became stupid stacked, and being stupid stacked is only fun upto a certain point, and only for so long. When I join the server it's because I want to play some survival, yet I find myself to be in what essentially is creative mode with irrelevant health and hunger bars. And as someone that doesn't enjoy building for the sake of building, that's no fun I recently (not long before I stopped playing) even started fresh on an alt out of pure boredom because of what I said above. Must be quite different, right? Going from being stacked to having nothing? Well, not really. On the second day I got myself an elytra. Freshly found in an end city, obtained by beating shulkers to death with an iron shovel. Oh, and I also got a set of god armor, god tools, and a god sword on that same day. Getting to that point that quickly means there isn't even any fun to be had in starting fresh on the same world to me. If I start fresh on a singleplayer world at least I have to stock my own food, explore (untouched) terrain I haven't already seen a billion times, hunt for ender pearls before getting to the end, and beat the dragon with shitty armor before I can even consider getting an elytra. On here, none of that applies. I vote once, I type /warp end, and that's it. I'm in the end. Seriously. I didn't even think of that difference until I actually did start fresh on an alt. It's downright stupid how easy starting fresh is on here. Anyway, after typing /warp you just have to spend a few hours walking about to find an elytra, and to get out of the end all I have to do is /spawn. If you need food you walk 150 blocks from spawn. If you want a mending book all I have to do is shit out 2 diamonds, which can be done by voting twice for the day. Is it a choice to use said free food right outside of spawn, buy cheap ass mending books, or whatever else? Well yes, of course. I wish I was clueless. I wish I'd have to somehow discover these things on my own by playing, but I already know my way around the server probably better than anyone else, and I can't simply erase my memory. I know that I have to either bore myself with grindy stuff that isn't fun, or that I can get stuff with ease, which is also no fun, but at least it's not a boring grind. Seems like an obvious choice to me. Anyway, unless the server gets a reset I probably simply won't play anymore. I see no point in it, and I'm not having fun with it. If it were reset I'd probably be good for another few thousand hours of playtime though. That's my view on the matter as perhaps not just a player, but perhaps as the player that is naturally most burned out on this world in specific. Also, you'll always have more people that aren't at the point where they want a reset yet than you'll have people at the point they want a reset. New people join all the time. They don't want a reset. They're in the middle of working on stuff. Most of the ones that have been there a longer time probably value their builds too much to want a reset. They're invested in the server as it is, and the rest of the people that have been around for longer that would have liked a reset simply stopped playing already. You won't hear their opinions on the matter. They're already gone. Perhaps it gauges the opinion of the current active community, but it'll always be massively in favor of no reset. Just saying. I don't want resets every 6months/year either. But maybe after 2 years and a half and soon the 5th major version the world has been on without a reset, it's time. For all the version changes and border expansions the server's gone through, it's been pretty good all things considered (even though I'm still salty about woodland mansions). But I do believe that maybe now, with all the changes in block and chunk data (needing a whole world conversion to be done), and a whole revamp to all ocean biomes, it's time. (Also, when was the last time you saw an untouched village or temple just exploring? I bet a lot of people have never even seen such a thing on here. It's just one of those things. The world is really showing its age at this point.)

I might not have extreme wealth like Veil, but I do have several huge builds, I could say some of the best builds on the server. Would it suck if they are gone? It kind of would, but it would also be nice to get a new world. Not having to go quite far out for quartz for example, or finding signs of someone having been there before if you randomly teleport. As such I will change my opinion to being in favour of a reset, although it will hurt to see my courthouse gone...

After re-reading all of these posts above, I changed my mind. I don’t care if the server resets or not. It is not our decision as players. Just wait to see what happens.
I changed my vote to “I don’t care either way.”

Just wondering, would people keep their claim blocks? Particularly wondering for those people who donated to get claim blocks, it would totally suck if they lost their claim blocks.

The real question, I think, is not wether we will reset or not. But WHEN is this decision to be made?
We really need a deadline for that.

Magic up a way to take the crap everybody wants to hold onto, save it, reset the server, take all that crap, and place it on the map, arranged neetly, badda bing bada boomstick you have a charming little ville of old grumpy frumps, hell even make it spawn. That's about the only way I see a semblance of everybody harmonizing on that tune. You know magic, right?
I still say burn it down to the ground, no remains, no regrets.

I'm going to be honest. I just joined not too long ago, and have spent possibly over ~20 hours on the server already. I'm new, therefore I definitely do not get to make the decisions here, but I would like to put my input in. I'm not against border expansion, wiping the nether and the end, or possibly carrying over items onto a new world (though that would be a pain in the ass). Minecraft seems almost pointless to me if a reset happens. Obviousely with updates and similar things, changes must be necessary. I guess I just joined at a bad time, but I will say this: i'm not going to be playing on the server if a reset was to happen. I plan to put many, many hours onto this server, as it is one of the only servers I have seen with wonderful plugin uses as well as many other things, and to leave this server would suck for me. Anyways, i'd love to have a discussion about it, but I feel as though i'm just weighing in my opinion here, thanks for listening.

tl:dr veil's post, can someone sum it up for me. k thanks. Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy. XD In short, Veil is trying to say that he has no motivation to come back on the server because he has probably done possibly everything in game. Anything can be achieved very easily on the server, like he mentioned, there’s warps to the end instead of finding a stronghold and making an end portal, that takes away from the actual vanilla aspect of Minecraft. He even stated that he has joined on an alt account, and on the same day, he easily achieved getting very good armor and tools. Being wealthy on the server is fun at one point, but then it gets really boring after some time. I believe Veil has over 51,000 diamonds in total, he said it in chat the other day. It’s not only the diamonds here, but what else is there to do? Not even creative mode interests him now, because he also said he finds himself in creative mode most of the time. I can totally relate to this because I felt the same way on another server when the world was going to reset, building in creative mode and doing nothing, it was boring. (Besides banning griefers and hackers. LOL) Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up. 😁

Well Veil, have you tried flying a boat? maybe you can make a boat flying race track with obstacles and possible death. Then have a race with those who are dirty hackers and admin. we can even bring a buddy! winner gets to burn the losers in lava. <3
