When will we know the decision? Time is running... It seems the vote is a glaring "No" So a reset is very unlikely. Meehan will be looking into the options and let everyone know. 1.13 spigot is poop atm so no ETA at this time.

1.13 spigot is poop atm so no ETA at this time. Spigot developers got three waves of their update: extreme caution, caution and normal. They are in the first one right now. We have tested it, it works, but there are bugs and unknowns. Plugin wise, some has been maked as working with 1.13 as is, and some have released specific 1.13 updates. But for the majority of the plugins we use, it's either unknown how well they will work, or they simple dont work or crash the server. Patience is the word... (Yes I know it sucks, I also got no patience)

Do people agree that the server will eventually need a reset? Because if you do then people's problems with resetting will only get worse when the next updates comes along. So if a reset is to be done then this is the time to do it. I think staff are at an important juncture of deciding whether or not there will ever be a reset. Either way the community should respect the staff's decision but I think it is important to commit to something.

The problem is that we humans are too sentimental, which isn't a bad thing of course. When we make things, we hate having to think of the work going to waste on what we've made. Maybe we should reset the server, maybe we shouldn't. Nevertheless, I fear that we are thinking of the situation in a selfish standpoint. A main argument in favour of a reset is the newly generated structures. While I would like to have a totem of undying as much as the next guy, we need to think of the server reset as a collective group. We cannot vote yes/no based purely on whether or not it will affect us. We have to ask ourselves; "Is this something that people do not want?". Just because you may want it for personal gain should not distract from the main core of the situation. This is a big step towards the server as a whole, our decisions now will impact the future of both the server and its members. I suggest we hold this vote off entirely, until a significant super-majority of players request that the server be reset. As of now, a majority of players do not support a server reset, and we should be focusing more on why they don't want a reset, as opposed to why we don't want a reset. Let us not act out of greed or necessity, let us act as the majority wants us to.

Guess I might as well post my thoughts/opinions as a player. Do I want a reset? Yes. Absolutely. I don't play anymore because there is nothing for me to do anymore. Having played for over 4000 hours I became stupid stacked, and being stupid stacked is only fun upto a certain point, and only for so long. Hahahahah, back in 2016 you were stupid stacked!

well there may be other players on this server like me...who just enjoy to build something and not just get "stupid stacked" so a server reset would mean that i would loose all the sentimental things i build in hours and hours of playing (over a couple of years).
i have a question though: if the server reset is for sure, would it be possible to download the map? if "we" start a new map i would like to have a chance to save my builds from extinction.

I have no idea if we would be able to provide a world download, if we even reset(and that is not very likely to happen anyways). The overworld region files have reached 100GB uncompressed, I dont know were we would even host that, to provide a decent download speed for everyone.

Maybe we could store the world save unarchived on a public ftp server where everyone has permission to read and download files. People who want the entire map can transfer it, but others who just want a certain area can just download the region files they need.

So 1.13 is mostly an ocean update so has anyone considered the map being MC edited to reset the ocean biomes that have not been built in? Then we still get most of the features from 1.13 while preserving the map.

Won't get turtles. They spawn in beaches. Won't get HotS they are in chests on beaches. More than just oceans would have to be reset.

I've had a change in opinion, from a no to a reset to a yes. I believe this reset is what the server needs, both for new players and current (still active) players. It would allow for active players to retake the server, instead of builds being dominated by inactive users. Yes, there's the problem that you'd lose your progress, but my counter-argument is; what better way to improve your builds and creations than to start over and rebuild? This is what we need. It's the real world equivalent of taking a breath of fresh air. Please support a reset for 1.13.

It was incredibly tedious and time-consuming. I don't really getting to do that over again is going to make it any better. This is not to say I'm 100% against a reset; I'll go with the flow if it happens. But it's gonna sting, a lot, for a lot of people, and I believe it's important to acknowledge that if we expect people to go along with a reset.

Make a test world first, I hear some servers keep having bugs in the new update anyways. Also what exactly is a reset? Dose it mean everything gets deleated and recurses go back to where they once was? Cuz all those that say no to a reset don't want to lose there work they have worked hard on, so is there a way to have both?
